Well first of all let me start by saying HAPPY EASTER to you all!
I thought I would start Good Friday off by showcasing some of my past Easter decorations...These particular pictures were taken at my last house...infact this was Easter 2008.
Freddy made this teacup candleabre and it was featured on the Marie Claire idees website...which we were very chuffed about.
Nobody knew back then that we lived on a rather new Island with lots of new houses around us (most peeps thought we lived in an older house!)
...it was rather lovely though as we had three floors and looked over basin 2, which used to be visited by war ships and tall ships alike...
it was like being on holiday every day, living there...sigh!
Decorating your house for Easter couldn't be easier...get out those egg cups from your kitchen cupboards and display them around the house next to pretty postcards.
...buy Easter cards that you would like to receive yourself and display them in card holders (above)...or you might already have cards that have been sent to you...so this would be a lovely way to display them rather than just plonking them along the mantle or window sill.
Display your Easter stash of pretties...just like here...these above are artificial flowers...and I seem to of lost them over the years...this year I have gone into the Garden and picked my own...I have that yellow plant in the garden and I have also picked and made arrangements of  my lovely pastel pink Ribes (thanks Sairer for telling me what it was ;) I love ya xx)
As for all the lovely sweet treats...I cannot display those until Easter Sunday, as they will all be eaten up and won't look all lovely on display!....with just the wrappers for show! Yep! even though my kids are now 18 and 22...they will still be naughty and eat all the treats...and then swear blind it wasn't them that ate them! :) Grrr!
I love this apple moneybox...not a very obvious Easter decoration, but it is lovely and bright...and that is the main thing...decorating the house with the things that you love and make you happy is the key to a happy life...
Oh I soooo love bunnies and this felt bunny garland will be used again this year...I do remember finding it the other day and putting it somewhere for safe keeping....do lets hope I can find it again lol!
Well! as I said...I will be bringing you some more pictures over the weekend of my springtime flowers and decorations for this year...I plan a Easter Egg hunt for Easter Sunday! lol! yep even though my kiddies are grown ups now...I still like to keep up the traditions...when I said the other day about, perhaps they were too old for it...Rosie was horrified! so at the moment I am trying to find little things that fit into those plastic refillable eggs that I seem to of bought! Oh what fun! lol!

Do you decorate your house for Easter?...and if you do...what have you been creating and buying for the Holidays?

Do you have Older or younger children...and do you still give Easter Eggs or have you started giving gifts for Easter...

Come on gals I am interested here...what are you all getting up too!

Bye Bye for now my lovelies.

Happy Easter

  4. Lovely cheerful pics - just blogged mine for this year :)

My boys are 14 & 16 and I am hoping they'll want to hunt for mini=creme eggs on Sunday - if they don't I'll eat them (the eggs not the boys).

I stil but them a Lindt Bunny each - no pressies - I hate the over commercialisation of traditional events.

  5. Happy Easter dearie! I love the egg cup with the chickies in the bottom! I have lots of neices and nephews that still get treats even in their 20's. I give some sweets to my hubby too. I could care less about all the other sweets, as long as SOMEONE manages to give me a Reese's peanut butter egg, I'm good. I think it is something we never grow out of. Now I get to stash eggs for my 4 year old and it is so much fun. Have a great weekend! thanks for sharing!

  8. I have been collecting bunnies of all sorts through the years and always display them on our mantel. I bring in Spring flowers and put them in vases all over the house. We go to church Sunday morning, then family comes for lunch and the five grandchildren hunt eggs and baskets full of goodies in the afternoon. We hide the eggs all over our half acre yard and in the house as well so it is a madhouse for a short time, but so much fun. Happy Easter.

We are actually driving about an hour south this year so that the families can meet halfway and do brunch together. I love how bright and sweet all your Easter things look...and always enjoy coming here for a vist. If you have a chance pop by my blog and see the sweet little TWINS I found that finagled their way into my basket and home with me- Easter blessings- Diana

  12. Hello and Happy Easter!! I've just stumbled upon your fabulous blog via "Vintage Vicki" and have become a follower! What a great blog!! Am looking forward to making myself a cup of tea in a bit and having a good read! Yes I too decorate the house for Easter - more & more each year, as i always try to add to my box of decorations - this year the dresser has been completely transformed and we have an Easter tree in the dining room - i've just created two posts today on my blog with lots of pics if your interested. My children are still young,(7 and and a baby of 5 months) so we have a mixture of eggs and a present - even hubby has to have an egg - in fact he would definitely make the biggest fuss if we did away with eggs, as he ALWAYS has to have the largest we can find in the Supermarket! Whereas my daughter wouldn't mind as long as she had a present! Happy Easter!! Marina x

  14. Hi, Happy, my kids are 16 and 12, and I decided this year not to do anything for Easter! And they didn't care. We went to church, and that's the main thing for us, to worship our risen Savior. Love your Easter/Spring decorations, beautiful as always. Hugs ~ Mary
