Hello there gals....I expect you have noticed that things have changed quite a lot around here lately...sorry if your browser takes along time to load, as I have added quite a few photographs onto my side panels...I do love change you see and as my life is changing I feel I need to change the blog....it will always be a bright place to visit and indeed a happy one, but I want to be able to write about a vast amount of subjects rather than just decorating or my influenza! LOL!
I have recently bought the new Magazine LOVE, FASHION AND FAME (see side panel and above) it features Beth Ditto on the front, it is such a ground breaking mag...as I have longed to see for a lifetime, a real sexy curvy woman on the front of a mag...it makes me proud to be a curvy woman and I think more magazines should follow suit! Although the lovely green and the pink catches the eye...her body and soft skin will make people realise how wonderful a larger woman body really is! and how fewer wrinkles we have than our thinner sisters!...
Coupled with the fact, that she is sporting the most wonderful anchor tattoo! and a SISTERHOOD tat on the side of her hip....only makes me realise how badly I want to have it done...pondering for years, about what tattoo to have where....she has finally made me decide!..
Why oh why have curvier women not been featured on mags before! Afterall in the days of Marilyn Monroe and Jane Mansfield, both size 16 models....they had to stop those ladies modelling clothes because the men were oggling their bodies instead of looking at the clothes that they were supposed to be selling!....So what does that say then! surely its a good case to stop those terrible stick thin size zero models from starving themselves...surely they want to look attractive and not amansipated...I definitely think this is the right step forward...the mag is full of fashion advertising, inspiration, interviews with iconic diva's and lots of fashion tips...its a winner in my opinion!

Sorry about the 'Bile beans' advert....it just made me laugh - the wording of it and all! so I just had to add it :)

hi from jann in Texas ! love the new look of your blog, your blog is one of my favorites - I am always checking it out, so keep inspiring me/us with your creative wit. And I agree about the larger women's beauty. I am so sick of just seeing thinness promoted. God created all of us in different shapes and sizes .
ReplyDeletethat is a cool magazine and the lady is so sexy . Glad to hear your finally getting a tat...I have several , my first I got way back in the 1970's . Hope you can visit my blogs soon too....

ReplyDeleteI think it's great Beth is a cover girl, I find it so disappointing that magazines don't feature enough curvy ladies.

Um....where are her nipples? Have they air brushed them out? I think she looks wonderful. Men like something they can hang on to after all.
