Our homes can be the most expensive thing we own. They are very stressful to purchase and once you are in them it can feel like a never ending list of things to do. But we take pride in our homes and how they look. So why wouldn't we think about our kerb appeal? This is the first impression our home get’s to make. Not only to our friends and family. But if you find yourself in a position of selling, then it’s what prospective buyers see first. With that in mind, I thought I would share with you some of the ways you can give your home ultimate kerb appeal.

Tidy up the driveway or front path

Not all homes have a driveway and a big front garden, but whatever you do have make sure you tidy it up. Driveways and footpaths can collect fallen leaves and debris over time. While you don’t intend to leave them there, they can appear messy. Just spending a little time sweeping these areas up can make a big difference to how your home looks.

Take care of the front garden

Taking care of your garden might not be your idea of fun. But making sure it looks presentable can do you a lot of favours. You don’t have to be particularly good at gardening. It can be a simple as making sure the lawns are cut, and the edges are neatened. It might mean taking care of tall trees or having them maintained. Cutting trees are not for just anybody to do, so Consider a Tree Service to help you out with things like that. Tidying up the garden might mean getting rid of some overgrown bushes or plants that have seen better days.

Paint the door or garage

A door and garage doors can be big focal points to how your home appears. So if paintwork is crumbling away or the wood is looking worn, then it won’t be giving the impression you want. Take some time out to repaint those areas and get them sorted. A nice bright door colour is becoming a bit of a trend. You can have any colour you like, but most often you see a red, blue or even yellow door these days. If you are more traditional, you could consider black. Or opt for a UPVC door instead. The choice is yours. But it can make a big difference to how your home looks.
Clean the windows

There is no point spending all this time on your garden and driveways, even painting your doors, if your windows are looking grubby. Cloudy looking windows will not give off a clean and crisp impression. It may make people think that the interior is just the same. Some areas have window cleaners that offer rounds. If you are in that position, get them to add your home to their list. It takes the pressure off you and always keeps your windows looking sparkling clean.

Add a bit of colour
Finally, don’t forget to add a little colour to your garden. This could be something like a hanging basket near your door. Or a few flowers in the flowerbeds. Have fun bringing back the Kerb Appeal in your Garden.
